Finally, I got a chance to use a 3D printer! Thanks to Jhave :)
It wasn’t easy for me to get a permission since 3D printer is only allowed
for grad student and Hexagram member. Fortunately Jhave is a member
of Hexagram, and I could be able to use it through him. (I should have
asked earlier… my bad…)
So, I brought my 3D file to the lab, and I had to fix a lot of things in order
to print it without breaking it. Minimum thickness of the object has to be
bigger than 2mm, and my cutting letters were really thin, so I had to fix it.
Also, I had to add stand on the bottom to hold all the letters, otherwise
it will just break apart. Thus, I needed few adjustment before I can print it,
and I can’t wait to see the physical object. Downside of this job is that I have
to pay around $80 for my material and printing fee. I hope it is worth it!
